In spite of the boycotts on Jewish shops and professionals, legally Jewish physicians were allowed to practise medicine and treat non-Jewish patients. The decree that barred them from working for State supported health insurance programs and clinics caused dismissal of Jewish physicians from some public hospitals and reduced the number of patients of those in private practise.
